Discover Pambula Preschool

A Typical Day At Pambula Preschool

The program at Pambula Preschool is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (2009) and the National Quality Framework (2010). Approaches to planning also reflect the emergent curriculum, Reggio Emilia, nature based exploration and slow pedagogy. There is a high focus on collaboration when planning and programming, with all children, families, staff, and the broader community contributing.

The program aims to foster a sense of being, belonging and becoming by:

The gross motor, fine motor, cognitive, language and social emotional needs and achievements of each child are observed and recorded by staff. These records are used to plan a fortnightly program, which is displayed and implemented. The program and activities are then evaluated, and this information is used for future planning and programming. Family and community involvement and input is encouraged.

What To Wear

Be sure to dress your child in comfortable, washable clothing. Preschool activities can be messy at times, so it is best not to dress your child in good clothing. Paint and dirt are all part of having fun and learning. Shoes need to be non-slip and comfortable (sand shoes or joggers are best). Label everything! We do not have a specific uniform; however, we have sun-safe hats and preschool t-shirts for sale from the office.

Food At Preschool

We aim to promote healthy eating at preschool, so please do not send chocolate, chips or lollies to preschool.
The children need morning snack (fresh fruit or vegetables), lunch and afternoon tea. Drinking water is readily available to children.
In accordance with health regulations all food brought from home must be refrigerated. Food must be packed in lunchboxes – food in thermal bags are not suitable in the fridge because they keep the cold air out.
